In the spring Teresa was given the ride on Dr. Jim Bond’s lovely 5 year old mare Helene. Teresa rode her in the FEI young horse classes and took her to the selection trials in Raleigh were they won the championships http://www.wintermillfarm.com/2009News.html 
Teresa and Johnny made a successful debut at Prix St. George winning their first class and qualifying for both the BLMs and Region 1 Championships.

Teresa rode Picollino 2 in the FEI six year olds and was the first Pony to qualify for the national championship to be held at Lamplight Equestrian Center near Chicago, unfortunately they where unable to attend the show due to a bad allergic reaction. Teresa moved both Froelich and Marseillaise up to 4^th level this year and qualified them for the BLMs as well as Devon.

Teresa’s Students also had a great year. Diane Skvarla and Prism came out at 4^th level and were High Score champions at PVDA Ride for Life (the student beat the teacher at this show). Diane also qualified for the BLMs and Devon. Joanne Leuschner and International Barron made their Dressage debut this year and finished with a blue ribbon at the PVDA Chapter Challenge. Finally Dorie Forte fulfilled a dream and earned her USDF Bronze Medal aboard Froelich.

Next on the agenda was the April 12-13 VADA/NOVA Spring Dressage Show held at Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia. Teresa showed her versatility by qualifying Dorie Forte’s 18 hand Oldenburg ISR gelding, Froelich, and Jill Frumin’s 14.3 hand Westfalen Reitpony, Picollino 2, for the Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Eastern Selection Trials to be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, on May 30-June 1. Teresa will be competing Froelich in the FEI Dressage Test for Six-Year-Olds and Picollino in the FEI Dressage Test for Five-Year-Olds. The winners of these selection trials will advance to the final selection of the two teams of five- and six-year-olds who will represent the United States at the 2008 FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Verden, Germany, this summer.

On May 3-4, Teresa and four of her students (Dorie Forte, Diane Skvarla, Jill Frumin and Melissa Swearingen) headed out to Morven Park again for the CDCTA Recognized Dressage Show. This was the first show of the year for all four students, and the first dressage show for Teresa’s up and coming 6 year old Oldenburg GOV sale horse, Rohmeo, currently owned by Elizabeth Dorsett. The pair scored exceptionally well, finishing with scores of 73% and 75%. Teresa’s students also rode some very good tests and shared some good-natured ribbing. All brought home ribbons to tack up on their stalls and stories to share in the lounge.

Froelich and Teresa ended the Selection Trials as Reserve Champions of the Six Years Olds and Picollino was 4^th in the Five-Year-Olds. She rode Froelich at the Markel USEF Young Horse Championships in Lexington Kentucky and picked up a catch ride on Becky McCullom’s 4 year old Rastino and both horses finished in the top Ten. Teresa has a successful year end at Dressage at Devon. She started off winning 4 year old Materiale on Rastino then was second at on Unitas in the 4^th Level Class held on Saturday. She also place in both the FEI 6 year old and 5 year old test on Froelich and Picollino.
