2008 News
In February 2008, Teresa moved her business
to the beautiful Morgan Run Show Stables
near
Westminster, Maryland; see
http://www.morganrunstables.com. Teresa
is thrilled with this new facility and would
like to express her thanks to owners
Danielle and Jeff Fleegle for so warmly
welcoming her and her clients to their
lovely new farm.
Following the flurry of activity after the
move to Morgan Run, Teresa and Unitas
(Johnny) were invited to participate in a
clinic presented by Hassler Dressage at
their new Riveredge West farm in
Chesapeake City,
Maryland.
This “Interactive Training Clinic:
Young Horse to Prix St. George/Intermediare,”
was held on March 15th
and
featured seven horse/rider combinations
representing young horses at various stages
in their training.
Scott Hassler focused on each team’s
strengths and weaknesses and offered a
training program designed to develop happy
and sound horses as they progress up the
levels; see
http://www.hasslerdressage.com/symposiums/itd-clinic.html.
Next on the agenda was the April 12-13
VADA/NOVA Spring Dressage Show held at Morven Park
in
Leesburg, Virginia.
Teresa showed her versatility by
qualifying Dorie Forte’s 18 hand Oldenburg
ISR gelding, Froelich, and Jill Frumin’s
14.3 hand Westfalen Reitpony, Picollino 2,
for the Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage
Eastern Selection Trials to be held in
Raleigh, North Carolina, on May 30-June 1.
Teresa will be competing Froelich in
the FEI Dressage Test for Six-Year-Olds and
Picollino in the FEI Dressage Test for
Five-Year-Olds.
The winners of these selection trials
will advance to the final selection of the
two teams of five- and six-year-olds who
will represent the
United States
at the 2008 FEI World Breeding Championships
for Young Horses in Verden,
Germany,
this summer.

Team Butta
On May 3-4, Teresa and four of her students
(Dorie Forte, Diane Skvarla, Jill Frumin and
Melissa Swearingen) headed out to Morven Park
again for the CDCTA Recognized Dressage
Show.
This was the first show of the year
for all four students, and the first
dressage show for Teresa’s up and coming 6
year old Oldenburg GOV sale horse, Rohmeo,
currently owned by Elizabeth Dorsett.
The pair scored exceptionally well,
finishing with scores of 73% and 75%.
Teresa’s students also rode some very
good tests and shared some good-natured
ribbing.
All brought home ribbons to tack up
on their stalls and stories to share in the
lounge.
